View Full Version : ask anonymous anything

well it seems to me that alot of people on this forum are scared to death of anonymous, i dont see why though. Ive been anonymous for quite a while now, and most of us are leftist (seeming that we are a purely communist organization). First off, anonymous is good, anonymous is evil. Just because someone hacked into sarah palin's email and claimed to be anonymous, doesn't mean we were all in on it. Fox news tries to tell the public that we are an "internet hate machine" and we are "hackers on steroids", but this is all false information.

so go ahead, ask an anon anything.

Lolo, anonymous. A non-organization of flailing internet personas hiding behind slogans and internet's anonymity.

Completely pointless statements like 'anonymous is good and evil' don't make you look cool, and really serve no purpose other than to make you look stupid.

Nobody cares what Fox says anyway.

cool story bro

Can you give more details what are you? What are you doing?I have no clue right now.

well... anonymous is always up to something, whether its for the good of man or just mischievous.
Do you remember hearing of Kenny Glenn? He was an animal abuser; he and his brother video taped themselves smashing a cat against a wall in a shower, throwing it against the ground, and running water on it. So anonymous basically ruined his life after he posted it onto the internet. We found his "dox", a collection of information on him, and ordered thousands of pizza, sent many hookers, made hundreds of phone calls harassing him, then once our lulz were had, we reported the video to his local authorities. They took all 3 of his cats, gave him a heavy fine, put him on probation, made him go to mental evaluation hearings, and probably a lot more, but i don't know a whole lot of what they gave him. this was an example of our "good" side. But you may have also heard of our habbo raids. This is just us messing with a game to get lulz. this is an example of our more darker raids.

^This. Never heard about "anonymous". Is this some local American thing? And who is scared to death here?

anonymous is all over the planet. And i posted something in politics, people here at revleft saw that i put anonymous on my profile, so they thought i was trolling, and saying "go back to /b/."

Nobody cares about some 4channers who go around being "edgy and controversial" saying shit like "we're good as well as evil! lolz epic fail! /b/!!!"

Yes, your right, nobody does care of 4chan. 4chan is NOT all that there is to anonymous. /b/tards are the cancer of the rest of us. they make us look bad, they just go around randomly trolling and pinning it on anonymous. they do not act with the whole. also, your taking the internet to seriously, there is no need to rage over a thread.

I couldn't care less if the almost undoubtedly heterosexual poster 'doesn't mean' to be prejudiced by saying the words, it rings completely hollow. Kind of predictable from a harassment group with notoriety in homophobia and racism, as well as of course intimidation. Great response there champ. Maybe its because, you know, I actually am a part of a 'IRL' organisation means I don't 'get it' about the hijinks on the internet.

So go on, i'm all ears. What purpose (to the working class of course, but really any) does "Pool's Closed" et al have apart from racism and shit-stirring "for the lulz"? Until then you and your white, straight, North American young people will be nothing more than morally bankrupt.

newfag is just like saying noob. and also, EVERYONE commits faggotry in some way. If you have been on a website for a while, then you are an oldfag. If you live in europe, then your a eurofag, and if you live in North/south america, your an amerifag (aka ameri****). It does not mean homosexual. Everyone who flames on putting "fag" on the end of a word is taking the internet too seriously.

pools closed has nothing to do with the working class, it's all about joking around. IRL, i believe full heartedly that every race is created equal. Anonymous is a mixed bag.
On the one hand, I do find it kind of interesting to observe the manifestation of pure, unhinged Id on the internet.

On the other hand, it irks me that anon seems to be so heavily linked to libertarianism and racism.
I mean, for fucks' sake- If you're trying to come across as an intimidating collective entity, a la the Borg, spouting individualist 'Atlas Shrugged' crap isn't going to help.

Plus, I think it says something about most anons when they joke about racism all the time, yet Amerika and capitalism for the most part get a free pass. Funny- I thought the point was to ruffle feathers and offend people. Sure, the racism shocked me at first, but it's been half a decade and racist 'humor' is pretty much mainstream these days.

If that's what you're going for, isn't the logical solution to mock Amerika and capitalism? I don't see why anonymous doesn't look at all these vitriolic pundits and teabaggers and not see potential LOL-cows.

It was never supposed to be a "group" of anything. "Anonymous" was just ironically used to collectively describe the people who post on /b/, where most people post anonymously (this was enforced for some time). It was just a bunch of people on a forum posting the kind of stuff that would get you beaten up in real life, and restricted on Revleft.

People also often took it upon themselves to massively "raid" forums, lame online games like Habbo (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/The_Great_Habbo_Raid_of_July_2006) (I wouldn't click this at work, btw), and racist assholes like Hal Turner (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Hal_turner). This kind of stuff led to a lot of pretty funny exposure from people not acquainted with the internet, like Fox:

DNO6G4ApJQY

Apparently, this wasn't enough. "Anonymous" had to exist in real life, with a serious cause, organising REALLY SERIOUS protests against scientology. It certainly didn't get any funnier over time.

Wanted Man
25th January 2010, 21:59
That was pretty good. I don't think any of the strikers were aware of Anonymous, so them using masks to protect their identity was pretty funny.

But yeah, striking workers with masks against union busting bosses are cool, all right. Definitely better than 20 dumb kids in front of the Scientology office, giving each other embarrassed looks to gauge if it is acceptable to publicly recite dumb old memes in real life. You know the fun is over when people start calling themselves "Anonymous" to make a name for themselves, and to impress their friends in real life (if we even operate under the assumption that they have friends in real life...), failing miserably in the process.

But that's just personal bias talking. Maybe /b/ was really unfunny all the time, and I only got fed up with it as soon as my little sister started going to Scientology protests.

I thought it was pretty funny at the time, but perhaps you're right. Embarrassment came later. A real conversation between me and my sister a few months ago:

Her: Say, didn't you take part in the raid on Habbo 3 years ago? I heard the sounds of that game coming from your room one day, and I always wondered, "Surely he didn't seriously play that?"

Me: Umm, yeeeahhh... *changes subject*
Oh god you participated or even played habbo hotel XD???

anyway

I once saw an anonymous Scientology 'protest' IRL. It was an epic fail if I've ever seen one.

I went to one since I was believing all the bs hype for some reason (back in early 2008). Went there, and it was 20 middle class white teenagers sort of walking around looking embarrassed, lol.

After some hesitation, were they all like "DESU DESU DESU", or did they quickly realise that the whole thing was a mistake and went home?

Went around half-heartedly handing out leaflets for a few hours. Never went to another one again, lol

Ours was more fail since we had made the decision not to go to the actual office in Panmure, because looking at it on Google Maps it looked in an obscure location (then I drove past it once much later and it was pretty big and obvious on a prominent Panmure roundabout) so we went into the city center instead. It was so fucking fail and purposeless.

Can't Anon realize what freaks they look like to normal people

At least that one went to the NZ Scientology HQ rather than just harassing people in the city for the entirety of it

But seriously, we only have like, 500 Scientologists living in New Zealand.

You know, i never knew what that anonymous shit was until now. The national scientology headquarters is not far from me, and I would be in that are and think "What is the deal with the Guy Fawkes masks?" I get now.

...Ok, the novelty has worn off. And now I am asking myself, "who the hell cares"...

To what end did they hack into Palin's e-mail? Did they do anything with it - uncover or release any info? Can they get me Michael Palin's e-mail address?

But seriously, what came of Palin's email hack? I'm cool with hackers if they are doing something with it and using the stunt to appeal to the popular revulsion against Palin - like I'm cool with the people in the 60s who would break into draft-boards and destroy all the draftee rolls.

The cryptic Internet posse known for its attacks on Scientology may have found a new target in Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Several self-proclaimed members of Anonymous (http://www.whyweprotest.net/), a loosely organized group associated with the message board 4Chan (http://www.4chan.org/), apparently breached the Alaska governor's personal Yahoo! account ([email protected]) late Tuesday night.
The hacker posted screen shots of two e-mails, a Yahoo! inbox, a contact list and several family photos to Wikileaks.org (http://wikileaks.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin_Yahoo_inbox_2008), a site that anonymously hosts leaked government and corporate documents. Another screen shot purportedly shows a draft e-mail from Palin's account to campaign aide Ivy Frye alerting her of the breach:
This email was hacked by anonymous, but I took no part in that. I simply got the password back, and changed it so no further damage could be done. Please get in contact with Sarah Palin and inform her the new password on this account is samsonite1.

Thank you and best wishes,
the good anonymous
The screen shots quickly spread across the Web to blogs like Gawker (http://gawker.com/5051193/sarah-palins-personal-emails).
The two e-mail exchanges appear to involve state politicians — Alaskan Lieut. Governor Sean Parnell and Amy McCorkell, whom Palin appointed to the Governor's Advisory Board on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse last year. Wired magazine reported (http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2008/09/group-posts-e-m.html) that McCorkell confirmed the e-mail's authenticity, though she later refused to comment to the Associated Press.
Palin's other Yahoo! account ([email protected]) had already been hacked, so to speak, by federal authorities who are investigating her role in the firing of Walt Monegan, Alaska's public safety commissioner. Critics charge that Palin fired Monegan for refusing to dismiss her former brother-in-law from his job as a state trooper. (The scandal has already earned a -gate suffix. (http://time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1840675,00.html)) After Tuesday's hacks were made public, both private accounts were deleted — an act that could technically constitute destruction of evidence.
The Alaska governor could also face charges for conducting official state business using her personal, unarchived e-mail account (a crime); some critics accuse her of skirting freedom-of-information laws in doing so. An Alaska Republican activist is trying to force Palin to release more than 1,100 e-mails she withheld from a public-records request, the Washington Post reported last week.
Rick Davis, campaign manager for the McCain-Palin campaign, issued (http://www.time-blog.com/swampland/2008/09/sarah_palins_personal_email_ha.html) a statement hours after the e-mail screen shots were posted: "This is a shocking invasion of the governor's privacy and a violation of law. The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities, and we hope that anyone in possession of these e-mails will destroy them. We will have no further comment." The Secret Service requested copies of the leaked e-mails from the Associated Press, but the news service did not comply. CNN reported (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/17/mccain-camp-seeks-investigation-over-reported-e-mail-hack/) that the FBI has also launched an investigation.
This is not the first time computer habits have become an issue for the McCain-Palin team. In January, John McCain told (http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1832862,00.html) reporters that he didn't know how to check e-mail. When asked whether he prefers a Mac or a PC, McCain replied, "Neither. I am an illiterate that has to rely on my wife for all of the assistance that I can get." He later added, "I am learning to get online myself." He might want to stay offline for the time being.
