One of his videos is called "What Americans can learn from Chile". Apparently, Chile was shit hole until Pinochet and his Chicago Boys stepped in (a point he forgot to mention) and turned the economy around. Beck fails to mention that the economy tanked because of the Chicago Boys policies and the only thing that held up the economy was the state owned Copper Mine Codelco which Allende fully nationalized during his term. He also forgot to mention that the referendum pushed Pinochet out and ever since (until now) the right has lost to center left governments using the money made during the 80s on social spending. Even then Beck forgot to mention that Chile also ranks as one of the major countries with the highest income disparities! The lovely freedom is only for the upper middle and upper class.

This man is an utter utter disgrace. I mean he is disturbingly propagandist and I cannot believe Fox News utter irresponsible behavior in giving him a public forum. Why is it OK for a right wing reactionary with no concept of history, economics, and politics to have a huge forum but its not OK for even a real progressive or leftist to have one too?

Chile's been quite a relatively stable Republic for quite some time even before Pinochet. Why did he make it sound like Chile was tin roof society?

Last night I was watching his shown when he mentioned Obama's "marxist" policies and apparent "class war".

Every step Allende took toward progress the US, CIA and the businesses in Chile took him to battle. USA divested, pressured other businesses to do so, tackled its currency, etc. Not even aid coming in from other nations like Sweden and Cuba could help. Inflation I believe was reaching triple digits. Nixon, as he said he would do, was making the economy scream.

The result is what capitalists use as a propaganda tool against Allende. Many Chileans remember Allende as being a good man but a bad statesman because of his policies, not realizing that a lot of it was out of Allende's control due to to the real owners of the country's wealth.

How can Americans be this racist sometimes? Chile has a long history of European colonization. A lot of Chileans are of European decent as well as of native American decent. Well, Beck just admitted he supported Pinochet, and Pinochet was a fascist who opposed a democratic election. So there you have it. Glenn Beck: Enemy of democracy, friend of fascism. Funny isn't it how the invective he loves to throw at other people (by which I mean establishment liberals) applies so well to him. Be sure to let his supporters know, especially since in their eyes, insulting people who influence your beliefs is the same as disproving those beliefs.

Using the same line of logic that Glenn Beck uses when trying to blast people (Alex Jones anyone?) with irrelevant logic. Beck's lawyers tried to get it taken down on a copyright infringement.

But I think it's not so much the case anymore, on account of them screening calls even more strictly now.

As for Glenn Beck, he's playing into this attempt to make "liberalism" (or at least what Americans think when they hear that word), progressivism, socialism, and fascism appear all the same.
