I smell right wing libertarian conspiracy theory bullshit...especially if you look at the person's channel you'll find other conspiracy videos like NWO/Reptilian/etc. I don't think this uploader should be taken seriously.

Although mind control and mood alteration is something the US government has actively researched for quite a while. All you have to do is look at the MKULTRA program, which had an explicit goal of developing and investigating mind control. Although to my knowledge they were not successful.

If anybody is interested in MKULTRA I suggest you use the wikipedia article found here. Yes, it is wikipedia, but this is a decent and well-sourced article:

Its just good as a starting point. It is quite good and well sourced. Remember that it is just a starting point - the article itself links to some great sources, including archives of scanned declassified documents from the project itself.
What if mind control were used to make the people happy 24/7?
I'm not sure what you're getting at here. Is this just a hypothetical scenario? To my knowledge MKULTRA was not really that successful and thats part of why it ended. Although I believe it did result in some new drugs and methods of usage for them, as well as some innovative torture and interrogation techniques. But thats about it as far as I know.

I mean, if we used mind control to make people happy no matter what happens. They cannot feel anything but happiness. What do you think of that?
i think its almost sociopathic. what happens in society if everyone is in a lull? what about those who control other peoples minds to "make them happy."
no good can come from fabricated joy on such a scale.

You're right, fabricated joy is for Nazis.
But what if we could use mind control on soldiers so that they don't feel fear, and follow orders without question? That could show real potential.
another arm of tyranny. a thoughtless military that obeys every whim of the commander.

People who are interested in paranormal and conspiracy theories should visit physicsforums.com and look in the "skeptics" category. (Just be careful about starting new topics there without first reading their list of forbidden subjects.)

I tried to get the topic onto a more legitimate course mikelpore. I think MKULTRA is always an interesting thing to discuss, especially the areas they failed, the areas they innovated (interrogation, etc) and the techniques they learned that they still utilise today. The entire program, the motives behind it, the implications of such a program and what it means today is a topic that hasn't had a good discussion on revleft for ages. I think I might make a topic about it.

an interesting movie about mind control is "the machurian candidate". in this film a multinational company has created its own artificially controlled vice-president of the USA.

Mind controled militaries would face many opposition from human rights and stuff. They have better chances with armed robots, the US army already have prototypes.

Why do you worry about these silly theories? The evidence is here and it is grossly apparant. One of the most explicit characteristics of the real form of mind control extant today is that those who imbibe similar propaganda tend to have obscenely similar viewpoints on world affairs insofar as they are discussed in that propaganda. People in the U.S. don't just 'happen' to support free markets as a moral attitude. Its part of a very deliberate propaganda system which serves the interests of their corporate clients
Take a listen to Noam Chomsky on the issue: http://popup.lala.com/popup/1657606146895382702
This is from "Propaganda and Control of the Public Mind." I highly recommend that anyone interested in understanding real, evidenced propaganda systems listen to it in its entirety.
