Wow, that's fuckin stupid.
I mean, calling Che, for instance, a murderer and a "forerunner of al-qaida" is like calling George Washington an executioner. And the girl is like "OMG they killed my grandpa", well, your grandpa murdered first and worked for a murderous reactionary dictatorship. Do Americans complain about a british red coat being executed back in the 1700's? Do Americans complain about a nazi being executed?
I don't understand how these people justify one revolution and not another. It's xenophobic and inconsistent.

I would like to see these ignorant, obnoxious, cappie arses make a documentary about the oppression and suffering that the USA have dished out. A while ago people were commemorating the 200th (?) anniversary of the abolition of slavery; that was under a colonialist, imperalist, capitalist system where I think 50 million (correct me if I am wrong) African slaves died at the hands of white slave owners. When they were commemorating the abolition of slavery there was nothing about how this was a capitalist evil. Capitalism is dripping from head to toe in the blood of millions of exploited, downtrodden people. Or what about the child labour, or liquidation of native Americans by white settlers, why not a documentary about that? I hate Glenn Beck.

I'm definitely up for that. How would we distribute such a thing though? If we are to embark upon some sort of antithesis to this video, I think it would be necessary to clearly lay down some principles/ideas as a sort of pathway, so that we know where we're going with it.

1. I don't think we should waste our time with answering this specific video, but answer the general propaganda that is spouted against communism and leftwing ideas in general.
2. How do we distribute it? Youtube? Liveleak? Then many other websites can embed that onto theirs.

Oh I didn't mean to this specific video, I just meant that Glenn Beck seems to be really popular with the American public. What I meant is some sort of populist, leftist alternative to guys like Glenn. And, yeah I was gonna say Youtube, but it seems like the kind of thing that would grow stagnant and get like 437 views after 6 months or something, you know? There must be some sort of method to really broadcast things to a large audience.
Edit: if this thing actually properly got going somewhere into the future, I have a cousin who makes films and teaches how to make films for a living :) I think he's fairly leftly-inclined too.

Fair enough, but let's take one step at a time here. Distribution is certainly an issue to be thought out more carefully though.

Well, no it isn't, because George Washington was a murderous terrorist who conducted a scorched earth, ethnic cleansing campaign against several Native nations during the American Revolution. Che, on the other hand, wasn't a "forerunner of al-Qaeda," and can't even be called a terrorist because he didn't support targeting civilians.
Video is stupid, obviously. I also support putting out some counter-videos to this garbage.

Amazing. For fuck's sake, even the NAZIS acknowledged that propaganda should have a grain of truth to it. For example, the Wandering Jew, was based on the fact that Jews in Europe had traveled from their traditional homeland in Palestine (though before that, they were nomadic at times). But the fact that the Germanic peoples had moved just as much, or the fact that Jews in Europe often ran from persecution, or the existence of traditional "Ghetto", a Jewish, centuries-old ethnic neighborhood with roots gets left out. But at least it was based on, or conflated it with something tangible. Despicable as can be, to be sure, but I can at least "see" the racist thinking.
Saying the atheist, communist, revolutionary Latin American Che is the forerunner to a CIA-funded, Islamist, terrorist group who fought against a communist government and Soviet troops DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. I can't understand how any nitwit, racist, reactionary, fascist, ignoramus could possibly make that connection.

AGREED! The quality of that video was fucking crap and looked like it was made in Glenn Beck's basement and he will make a killing in DVD sales to tea baggers who will host Patriot parties at home.
But look, seriously, we have to mobilize, like NOW. This type of propaganda is dangerous. I mean, if we set up a booth passing out flyers, we're liable to be shot - type of dangerous.
It cannot be that hard to make a video of our own, use stock footage and get some real deal scholars to volunteer their time to do some short interviews.

You're right. This Leftist video project has got me really inspired. My mom is watching it too and she is latching on to every piece of garbage said. They interviewed the daughter of a Colonel in the Batista regime who was upset about Che killing her father. Are you serious? So there is a problem with a Revolution killing a member of the military dictatorship? This garbage provides only the perspective of blatant liars and blind conservatives.

How people can believe a guy who pauses every ten minutes to discuss the virtues of buying gold, carbonite security files, and other junk, is beyond me!
Ridiculous. It makes me sad at the state of the American working class and their level of intelligence? It's unlike that of any developed nation in the world. Heck even the undeveloped world has a more class conscious and intelligent population. Even people with little to no schooling can understand that the boss and the politician are exploiting them. We embrace it and die for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....and call it freedom!!!!!!

Any links to this awful piece of work? It looks like it's getting rave reviews from the tea baggers on youtube. Apparently its the best thing since sliced bread. They're applauding each other and attributing some discredited right wing Cuban's work on Che as monumental evidence that Che was an evil precursor to Bin Laden. It's a sad, sad day to be a leftist.

OK In the past, at least they actually had the soviet union, Who have they got now? Islamic fundamentalists are not the same as communists. Who is going to be their next rival superpower? Nepal? (no offense, but it hasnt got the same landmass and population as Russia did) China cannot be classified as communist by the USA in the same way as Russia was anymore.
To produce such a spectacle, they are (imo) acting paranoid and worried about something. Does the rightwing now see the ever widening cracks in their own idiologies?

The driving force for another red scare has to come from the heart of the Teaparty movement here in the US. Fox News is unabashedly biased towards the teapartyers and will willfully feed them. We see the world as lacking in socialism(for the most part) but they see the Obama administration, the EU, and even Canada as socialist.

They could even end up as bad as the nazis as in sending people away to camps for simply being different to the conservative norms. Basically, different = communist to them. I think its irresponsible for Fox to give Glenn Beck and his illogical rants a forum. They should know that a good chunk of the American people are hanging on by a thread economically and psychologically. Being totally disconnected from both the economic and the political process has driven people to insane lengths in search of an explanation and Communism is always the same canard used by right wingers.
I think that all Fox is doing is instituting another red scare in order to keep the masses from going left at all. Reminding people that socialism is the reason why we're here and not capitalism.
That's only necessary when the population has some education. The American people are technically very educated, but know very little about history, and virtually nothing about the rest of the world. The American public are very very educated when it comes to aspects of work. Computer science, engineering, mechanical, business, etc. I have never been to a country where the general population knows so much about fixing their own cars, homes, computers, etc. In this aspect, Americans are very educated in getting down to work but in general knowledge about politics, history, economics, geography, world cultures, we're embarrassingly uneducated. I mean, every other nation (even third world ones) have some idea about what's going on in the world and where nations are on a map or know some general fact about history. I guess we feel that we don't need to know all of this stuff because it doesn't help us out financially or perhaps our nation is just incredibly insular thanks to the media.

This man is seriously dangerous! He wants people to jump on pick up trucks and shoot us. I mean the level of inconsistency, misrepresentation and outright lies is overwhelming. If I had little to no knowledge of history I would've punched the next liberal in the face! I could only imagine if I was a politically disenfranchised poverty stricken person with nothing to lose, what I would've done to a leftist.
What the hell is wrong with Beck, there are no communists left? Why is rehashing this trashy stuff?
How does he ignore the Spanish Civil War where Communists fought Nazi backed Fascists?
How does he ignore the Italian Partisans, the Greek CP, the French Resistance, the countless people who opposed the Nazi-Stalin pact, the obvious rift between fascists and socialists since the end of WWI?
Why was there no mention that all of these "marxist" offshoots were the result of the failed system of capitalism?
How does he ignore that Che went to fight in the Congo? That JFK himself praised the Cuban Revolution in the beginning?
How does he equate progressive eugenicists with Marx? It just all seems like Beck is trying desperately to connect too many dots.
