Its a well known fact that many workers in places like China, Haiti, Indonesia, India, etc make under a few dollars a day. I think the overall statistic is that 80% of the population lives on under $3 a day.
While this may buy close to nothing in the US, how sufficient is it in other places?
From where I grew up, 500 dram (approx $1) bought you much.
