Not really sure where to post this, so feel free to move if you feel it right to do so:

What are your plans for this summer? I'm participating in a volunteer-based program with the Alaska Pars Services and will be travelling up the West Coast to Fairbanks by car later this summer (probably around July 1, after I get back from Germany). I'm wondering about having company on the trip, as this would be a monstrous endeavor for one person to engage in alone. I've already talked to professors, and they will allow me to do coursework from Alaska, so that's no problem. The position is paid (you get a $400 a month subsistence) and there is free housing in addition, so all we'll have to worry about really is gas for the trip up. There are still some spots available, so I can give you Ranger Mike's contact information if you'd like to get involved. I'd love to spend a few days/weeks travelling through the country with you and I think this would be a monumental opportunity to finish off our undergraduate education. I've got friends in las Vegas and Seattle and Vancouver, so I'm planning to stay with them on the way up, so let me know if you're interested: I can hook you up with the right folks. I'd love to go up with you, and I can't stress how wonderful an opportunity this would be for anyone wishing to see new parts of their continent. I think of Che Guevaro's trip across the South American continent. Let me know if you have time and are interested, and I'll get you in touch with people who can help you set this up.

There's plenty of fishing, hiking and boating and swimming to be done out at the park and we'll have tons of freetime in the evenings and on the weekends, and there's internet access up there as well, so you won't have to go without contact to the outside world.

What do you think, will you be able to go?

Again, let me know your plans and hopefully we can do this,

Jerome

If I'm lucky I will get to go with a group of students to Japan. If that falls through I will go on a road trip with my friends to San Francisco.
