In order to create a fully secular state/society, would religious holidays that are now mainstream (and exploited by cappies) in culture be a legal (sorta forced upon) observance? I'm talking Christmas, Easter, etc. Mainly the Christian ones as they're the ones that seem to have the largest impact on society.

A secular state/society is one where politics and religion are seperated, so religious holidays wouldn't be banned.

I don't mean banned, more of the day wasn't automatically a day off. It's a sign of one religion dominating society - which is a pretty terrible idea in many western multicultural societies. People should get to choose though, if they want to take the day off.

I don't see why we shouldn't get a day off. Isn't that why we have holidays to begin with? :D

Yeah but look at their religious origins.

If it's a person's religion, they should be allowed to be able to observe a religious holiday.

I agree they should be allowed to worship and observe religious holidays, but by giving every worker a day off on those holidays isn't it sort of forcing religion on them?

Personally, I would love every day off I can get. ;)

Why wouldn't the system just work so everybody has x number of days/weeks off and they can use them whenever they want? If the Christians want to use some of them during the Christmas or Easter season they can, otherwise they can use them later. Problem solved, no?

I'd say solved.
