I had some fucking amazing pakora on the way home from the pub tonight. Who agrees that it is one of the highest food forms available?

This evening I opted for a mixed pakora of vegetable, mushroom and chicken. YASSSSS

Pakoras are so goddamn tasty. In terms of Indian cuisine though, I'd have to say dosas > pakoras, although they are less snack-y

There is this really awesome Indian place just down the metro from my house. I can get a giant plate of different curries, an order of samosas and an order of pakoras for under $10. I've been to places a lot more expensive than that that don't taste anywhere near as good.

I live in a small town that has one really amazing Indian restaurant (and like 4 Chinese ones on the same street, for some reason...). Shit, I haven't been there in 2 years or so.

Pakoras and dosas are well nice, but nothing tops a good ole yellow lamb korma from Lahore Karahi in Tooting. :D

those look more like mini onion bhajis to me.
Here In northern ireland the chippies do something similar called 'chicken goujons'. They are basically also fried chicken nuggets but they arent spicy at all.

1-Is that donner meat on pitta bread in the top picture?
2-Are you sure those people dont object to having their pics posted here?

1 - probably. Or gyros. Who can tell the difference, anyway? I mean, an investigation here showed that a lot of "lamb" döner kebab also contains pork.
2- I don't know, they look kind of happy. As well they should be when enjoying gyros.
By the way, what's on the pizza in the second pic?

thats not true, only one in the ten researched samples contained pork.
admitly also only one was 100% lamb but the 8 others where halal but contained either chicken, turkey or beef

Ah, I mixed two things up. There was a similar one a couple of years ago that found pork in many more samples, but I think it was only in one city. You're right, this most recent one is about 10% of them.
Still, kind of crappy for people who are dumb enough to pay €0.50 extra for lamb. :p

Mmmm I was on my way to a dinner this evening and I got brought to an event where there was free food... I went from having just a samosa or two to having like half a dozen samosas and a plate of curry. It was totally amazing - ESPECIALLY for free food - but then I had to go be picky and quiet at my "real" dinner.

Gosh that sounds nice.
 Who was cooking your "real dinner"? They need to read a cookbook or two by the sounds of it, it's not too hard actually if you get the right ingredients to cook nice Indian food.

No the latter meal was like vegan Lebanese, not Indian.

When I used to be vegan, I found that most food was either really bland or in the form of some sort of stew/chili (beans galore).
Vegan desserts are quite tasty though.
