I know I'm classified as "maoist" but there's something that's been worrying me for a long time. There doesn't seem to be much difference between monopoly capitalism and state socialism/leninism
1) Instead of individual corporations controlling the means of the production, the state owns them entirely. Essentially, it's transferring the means of production from one set of private hands to another.
2) There is absolutely no competition. This is the ultimate goal of monopoly capitalists, to have complete control over all means of production and all sectors of the economy
3) A few beaurocrats in a planning ministry decide what needs to be made and who needs it with little to no feedback from the people. "The commanding heights of the economy rest in the hands of the state."-Lenin
so how exactly would the workers own the means of production "through the state?" It just bleeds corruption, fraud, and conspiracy. It kinda reminds me of the New World Order.
I really do want to like Lenin, but I'm just unsure of what to think.

The key factor is the class character of the state. A "proletarian dictatorship" would be characterized by an economy that is run democratically through student, farmers, and workers' councils, unions, etc. The state, understood as an institution of class rule, is a necessary mechanism in guarding the gains of the working class until the international bourgeoisie is defeated.

One argument would be that the state would guarantee full employment, good working conditions, a living wage and the profits generated by the economy would be used to finance social projects.
While under private control, the private owners, managers of capital would only care about profits. And to hell with full employment, working standards and the rest.
It kinda reminds me of the New World Order.
That's bullshit from ultra right wing groups in the U.S. John Birch society, Alex Jones and the rest.
It's endless crap.:crying:

THats the big point, in my opinion, although I am an Anarchist, I would as a matter of being practical support a functioning democratic state controlling the economy rather than Capitalism, However Leninist states are not functioning democracies, so .... its, as you say, just as bad as monopoly capitalism.

Actually, I admire alex jones in some ways. He does a decent job on covering topics not mentioned by our mainstream media. Of course, I hate the fact that he says the NWO will be socialist, but other than that, I can sympathize with his cause.

I like Alex Jones in some ways too. But one major turn off for me is that he makes things up and adds conspiracy nonsense into his agenda.
NWO, one world government, illuminati, the usual junk from the conspiracy nuts.

You might be surprised.
We can all agree that capitalist states are evil, right?
And we can agree that they are imperialist, correct?
Also, the businesses that control these states are power-hungry, money grubbers that would absolutely love to enslave the whole planet, am I right?
If you can get the right people in high positions, you can pretty much pull off anything so long as they keep their mouths shut. And when you have world domination on the line, I'd guess that they do a pretty good job of keeping their mission on the down low.
