99% of anarchists are communists and a good number of those will identify as socialists. I think you meant to ask "Marxism or Anarchism?" :P

You mean statism or anarchism?

No, the OP means legitimate working-class ideology or petit-bourgeois sillyness.

Boring critique is boring.

But this type of poll has been done nearly to death.

Now i dont think marxism actually is petit-bourgeois sillyness, but it is easy to see why some might reach that conclusion....

If you're going to rename it anything, it should be "Marxism or Anarchism?" Virtually all the anarchists here are communists.

We do not after all differ with the anarchists on the question of the abolition of the state as the aim.

Given that Communism already encompasses the abolition of the state and all forms of social oppression and exploitation, it's clearly a superior position to 'anarchy' because it is far more specific and well-elaborated, with a clear logical argument for how to get there through class struggle. Anarchy by contrast is many things to many people, and loosely defined as the absence of hierarchy. This definition in abstract and moral terms is not realistically actionable, and the closest anarchists have come to refining it into something useful is by redefining what they mean by anarchy into being identical with communism, and becoming themselves highly idiosyncratic communists. The strands of anarchism that have rejected Marxist political economy haven't had much success and in fact many if not most of them are censured on this site (primitivism, post-leftism, various forms of 'market anarchy').

You can often glean a poster's allegiances by looking at their info and seeing whether they are listed as anarchists, Trotskyists or redfascist lunatics

By the same logic, given that the color blue is all-encompassing and refers to all things blue, the sky can not also be blue.
