When the Black Panther Party (originally the black panther party for self defence) was educating young black males about self awareness and defending black and other oppressed people in the projects in America, the FBI CIA and other agencies decieded to smash them by turning leaders against each other, beating false confesions out of members resulting in huge gaps in the command structure.
The black panthers opened welfare centres in the poorest communities, published their own news papers and even rehabilitated criminals and turned them to a life of politics.
The FBI were woried their plan of pumping projects full of guns liquor and allowing dealers to sell to black youth was being thwarted, and the panthers were stopping the genocide they had cleverly orchestrated.
So the FBI took out the leaders but did not get rid of the guns.
They effectively cut the head off the snake, so they had all the guns and the hatred bottled up inside of them, but lost the political direction.
So now you have thousand of young black males, killing each other for a colour in a proxy war against other black males, and the Government have found a final solution to keep the black masses, uneducated, unemployed and killing each other.
This has turned the panthers into a racist Black National party once again, like they were before they changed their politics.

How can this be stopped, or do your average Americans like the Status quo.

The original BPP was never "racist" - however, the current ill-named New Black Panther Party, is.

Average Americans have little problem with this status quo, unless they reside in the ghettos and urban centers in which this violence is a major problem. Black-on-black crime is not something that a white suburbanite will be particularly concerned with - in fact, most likely, they'll use it as evidence that African-Americans are "wild" and "criminal."

The New Black Panther Party is not connected to the Black Panther Party of history. It is, in fact, a split from the Nation of Islam. The Black Panther Party was never a racialist party, they didn't advocate separatism, although they wanted to organize blacks separately. The '60s idea of revolution was a revolution of identities. Neither the Marxist or anarchist left was able to channel the struggle of the oppressed groups and the mass anti-war upsurge into a revolutionary socialist party.

As for the black-on-black crime, this is indeed a tragic problem plaguing black communities. But it's not a conspiracy, it's the direct result of social and economic conditions under our capitalist system. Crime is an issue revolutionaries should take up, because otherwise people get trapped into this paradigm of liberal gun-ban politics or conservative law-and-order politics. All communities need to know the problem with crime is systemic.
