Get some friends and walk (Or Drive) around looking for stuff people are tossing out. Either use what you find as-is, repair it, or use the materials to make something new.

yah i would say look in construction dumpsters for scrap wood or look in the dumpsters behind furniture stores for slightly damaged and discarded wardrobe. also check freecycle, craiglist, classifieds, etc.
