You don't need to be consructive with Communists, I don't give my dog a lecture on why shitting on my carpet is bad it wouldn't understand. Far too many stupid comments to remember. But I remember one that stuck with me. At a protest when the US invaded Afghanistan, there was an organized herd of right-wing jackasses who were playing flypaper by provoking marchers and then wasting their time. So I did what I could to inform newbies and cull aside the loudest provocateurs. One loudmouth was wearing a cap with a logo from a horse race track. So I walked at an angle that led him away, and asked him if he liked Squirtle Squirt for the Breeders' Cup Sprint (the championship races about six months later). He said "just becase I wear this hat why do you think I know anything about it?"

Because of my task, I refrained from the obvious retort. Funny thing is that Squirtle Squirt won the championship at pretty good odds.

I got that too.

When I told my girlfriend I was a communist and was talking to her about it, she said she didn't think janitors should be paid as much as doctors and that she didn't want people barging into her house because everyone owns everything.

Sadly, I was young and naive at that time, and instead of educating her, I nearly instantly left her.
