I was up late watching this insane "documentary" about:
1. How Hollywood is immoral and only made good movies under the Hayes Code.
1a. Any movie where a character says "Jesus" or "Damn" is automatically a bad movie.
2. Christians should "infiltrate" (their word) Hollywood and become writers, directors, and producers.
2a. Hollywood is a cesspool where people have not ever heard of Jesus and follow strange pagan religions (Judaism/Buddhism?!!) and should be the focus of christian missionaries - seriously, their metaphor for Hollywood was going to "convert" remote cannibal tribes.
3. Jews and Atheists have a "minority view of God" and therefore should not be allowed to promote their worldviews through film.
It was only slightly covert in its antisemitism - at one point Kirk Cameron explains: "I was in a restaurant - a very Jewish restaurant - full of Hollywood big-wigs and my friend told me, Well Kirk, you sure picked the one religion that's not accepted in Hollywood". WTF!!! Maybe antisemetic right-wing Christianity is the new vogue for celebrities and semi-celebrities in the sunset of their career. if they have a hit they can say it is evidence of the US population's hunger for christian messages (i.e. like they argued about "The Passion") and if they flop they can blame it on Jews and atheists who "run" Hollywood.
The scary thing about the documentary is realizing that right-wing Christians are consciously organizing to "take-over" Hollywood and control content in a more overt way. other than that it was a laugh and "wtf" riot to watch.
Unfortunately I can not find the full program online yet. Their website explains their view of the Hayes code fairly well, but the clips appear to only be the segments where they went out and shamed a bunch of people on the street for seeing movies that have blasphemous language. It's always fun to see people sell Jesus like they're selling Sham-Wow though.
