I am holidaying in Cuba next winter. I will be with my partner and two young children. I will be staying 75miles east of Havana, I will be there for two weeks. I have chosen this destination for my holiday of a lifetime, I may never get this chance again, as it is very expensive to get there from Britain. I am hoping that fellow Che admirers and people with a knowledge of Cuba, can advise me on places to see, how to get there, any tips for a holiday in Cuba please.

Greetings friend, (that sounds odd)

I'm assuming your going to Varadeo, which is like most holiday resorts - boring. First off you need to get to Havana, Visit the plaza del revolucion, Jose Marti memorial etc... get a bicitaxi along the Malecon, visit the church of the black madonna, god there's too much to remember right now. There's a street in centro habana painted in bright colors where every sunday they hold Santeria rumba's - I can't remeber the name... shit. Maybe I'll look it up & get back to you....anyway besides Havana you got Santa Clara(home of che's remains) Cienfuegos & Trinidad (beautiful colonial towns) & if you feel brave enough to fly to Santiago de Cuba on a dilapadated russian jet then it is well worth it..... Hope this helps sorry I'm in a rush..........

Welcome to Che-Lives :)

You will probably get more replies over in Chit Chat, since it's a busier forum.
