How do people feel about different sports and there relationships to Socialism?

I always have trouble with the divisive nature of being a fan, New Zealand vrs Australia for example, when I preach socialism.

Also, I go for Manyoo in football, yet as a company they are the benchmark for Capitalism in Sport.

A very similar thread is already in existence and this might get deleted, but anyway, I think that sports would be very popular in a socialist nation because the people could realate to the famous athletes and be able to actualy meet their childhood heroes, not just buy some overpriced autographed trading card. I knowe in Cuba the baseball players live in the same neighborhoods as regular people.

No need to delete this one comrades.

Well for us kiwis, fighting those sheep shaggers from across the ditch over a hunk of pig skin seems a big deal most of the time. However it's all in good fun, or it should be. Win or lose it doesn't really matter, it's good to give each other stick over a pint, but really serves no other purpose.
Sure some people take it seriously, it's almost a religion. But in 500 years will it really matter, nah. What matters more is the comradery and bonds formed between nations that could maybe lead away from parocialism and gross nationalism. I'm a glass is half full kinda guy so I tend to look for the positives.

You don't take it seriously Em'Jem? That's due to the fact that you can't win anything. Isn't it?! Isn't it!

But it's true...

We need to make our own sport, that no-one else plays so we can always win. I think we should call it New Zealand rules football ;)
