My sole reason for being here is that i wanna know more about the significance of the day of 2`nd of May in former communist countries.

...i only know that its supposed to be The International Day of the Working Class Youth (or something like it). Can somebody correct me?

i know it`s not a very interesting subject for u guys anyway...but i really couldn`t find anything on this on the internet. In my country they used to celebrate it and i really need to know more but i don`t have whom to ask for details right now...

I think robert owen declared May 1 as the first day of the new millenium in the early 1800's. After his ultimate downfall, or however you put it, it was largely forgotten. After the Paris commune the first international adopted it as the day for international workers solidarity.
So it's international workers day.
