Joint leaflet produced by two anarchist groups and the ICC in Mexico:

The liquidation of Luz y Fuerza del Centro: unemployment and more attacks... We have to struggle, but not behind the unions

On the night of the 10th October the Federal police occupied all of the stations and centres of LyFC in parallel with the presidential directive announcing the closing of this company and lay-offs for nearly 44,000 workers, which the government admits will be "more than that authorised by law". The attack provoked a state of shock, anger and impotence. This is a new blow by the state against the working class. Faced with this situation we have to ask how our class can respond and express its unity.

44,000 workers getting laid off?! They can't be fucking serious, and some people still think the economic crisis is over? I like the "not behind the unions" sentiment also, do you know how this has been received, most importantly by the workers getting laid off?

Thanks for posting this btw.

No, I have got no idea. I just picked it up off our website and posted it here because it was in English. Of course there are lots of workers' struggles everywhere everyday that don't get reported on on here. For example, only yesterday, teargas and watercannons were used against demonstrating 'state alcohol and tobacco monopoly' workers in Ankara.

If you are interested you could write to us in Mexico, or any of the groups involved. Alternatly I could ask people for you.

I probably wouldn't mind that, although it's no big deal if you can't :) It's true that despite workers' struggle going on every day, most isn't reported. Take China for example, and how the number of industrial workers laid off is already in the millions, there were countless actions for it but most were not reported.
