I have been a member at a few political forums online for some time. While I have enjoyed some of my time at these forums, I have grown tired of some of the members. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy debating with others who have different political ideologies, but I'm tired of the nasty flaming, attacks and haters. I came across this site some time ago and have been reading quite a bit. So, based on what I have read, I feel much more comfortable here and I decided to register.
A little bit about myself. I'm married, have young kids and I'm closing in on forty. I don't feel too old, but I'm certainly not the young boy I once was. I hold strong views on the following:
- I truly believe health care is a human right and it should be free
- I believe a classless society is the only way people can be equal
- I believe there should be no restrictions on drug use and sex between two consenting adults
- If two people want to be together, I could care less if its a man/woman, man/man, woman/woman
- I don't like abortions, but its none of my business what a woman needs to decide for herself
- I am pro-union, especially in this day. In a perfect society, we would not need money, or wage or labor laws. However, corporate America is out of control
- I don't trust what our government is becoming, even more so today than ever before. I'm convinced government colludes with wall st. and corporate America to exploit and rob us all.
- I'm anti-war. I opposed Bush on every decision he made regarding both wars. I'm also not happy with Obama's decision to rev up the war in Afghanistan. Its seem clear to me that Obama wants this war to be his with the ultimate goal being a victory in Pakistan, not so much Afghanistan.
- I'm anti-corporate America. The right calls it capitalism with some regulation, I call it Corporate Fascism, Greed and an Illness
- I truly believe capitalism (corporate fascism) is at the heart of all of our problems. We need to do away with private property and money
- I'm against globalization
- I'm a bit undecided about global warming, cap and trade and other environmental issues. However, I'm also concerned about who benefits from cap and trade and global environmental treaties. Its seems to me that the push for some changes in Copenhagen are profit driven, and it has little to do with us, the plebs. I can't stand the idea of wall st. and the banking cartel benefiting while the rest of us drown.
So, I'm not prepared to state what I really am. Maybe you ladies and gentlemen can help me with that. LOL! What's important to me is that we have a society where no one is left behind, and that we all have what we need. While I am a bit of a collectivist, to me its more about the people, and to a lesser extent, the workers. Ok, I'm done rambling now! Maybe I am confusing! LOL!
