Phil Goff sounds exactly like Don Brash 4 years ago. :lol: Such a cynical approval ratings grab. Goff knows noone likes him and thinks he's just a slimy bureaucrat (polling at 5%). He's trying desperately for this not to be the case by appealing to some of the most reactionary elements of NZ culture.

A comrade of mine was saying how he saw something on TV when they compared a speech Don Brash had given back in the day to Phil Goff and it was pretty much the same... I should ask him what the show was.

BTW, the 'National Party' is NZ's conservative party.

Another thing is he talks like he's in parliament. That's strange since he's talking to a a Grey Power meeting (NZ's old peoples pensioners association).
