Yesterday
AZ Alkmaar versus Standard Liege
If standard loses, they're out of the European football for this year.
If they win, they stay in the champions league.
If they draw, they're in the Europa league.

AZ is leading by 1-0

4 minutes are added to the time.

The 4 minutes are passed, but the referee doesn't whistle.

Foul from AZ

And then this happens:

LOL. I didn't watch the game, because I was busy, but I read about it this morning. Oh well, it's only right that the Belgians should screw over AZ. After all, AZ just screwed over Belgium by appointing Dick Advocaat as manager. Advocaat is the coach of the Belgium national team, but with his new dual function, he will have a lot less time to devote to the Belgian job.

I missed it too, but I arrived at the old market (a place with dozens of bars) just when he scored and you could hear a roar coming from all the bars at the same time.

It was a good night for goalkeepers in the Champions League. Bayern's 'keeper Hans Jorg Butt scored a crucial penalty against Juventus to help send Munich through, meaning he has scored against Juventus for three different clubs in the Champions League.

How many 'keepers can say that?

Leuven is not the same place as Liège. Leuven is called "Louvain" in French, and Liège is called "Luik" in Dutch. ;)

Ahh... so do a lot of people outside Liège support Standard as well? Or is it just to support the only Belgian team in the CL?

Well, off course there are Standard supporters through the entire country, they play on a national level and they can play some nice-looking football. Most supporters are from Wallonie (the French speaking part of the country), because it's one of the few teams from Wallonie in the national league.
And in this case, indeed, more people supported them because they were the only Belgian team in the Champions League.

Speaking of Dutch teams sucking ass against those damn Belgians, did you see Ajax vs Anderlecht just now? What a disgrace!

I know:D I just saw the last half hour of the match. Even though they were already leading, Anderlecht stayed on the offensive, nicely done! I hope for you, you're not an Ajax fan?;)

I wish I wasn't. Urgh. Ajax were already qualified anyway, but it was an awful performance. Lukaku is an impressive player though, and apparently there is no doubt that he is really only 16. Ajax could use a player like that.

By the way, what's up with that Legear guy? Lukaku scored the second goal I believe, but this guy ran up to the camera and made some kind of gesture (he did it again after he actually scored). Weird.
