New to Community - answer my Q?

Firstly i'm new, i'm a journalism student in ireland. i cant categorize myself as a communist, socialist, trotskyist or marxist as others do in the communtiy. im in the process and have been for long time in gaining knowledge in the pursuit of a better world.

inspired by socialism i have found a cause. i ask you as a new member, revolution is a method in which to achieve our goals, is there a chance that in any of the major capitalist countries of the world that there could be an upsurgence of the proleteriat?

imperialism was defeated by such revolutions of ideology and Nationalism...but capitalism as we know derived from its defeat...how in our age can we defeat the scourge of the world?

I think there is little chance of a major upsurgence in the coming years. I'm just trying to educate myself further, so I can spread my understanding to a certain extent. Through the education of more people, hopefully we can sow the seeds of discontent etc., etc., etc.

People need to open their eyes to this so-called reality.

Otherwise we're fucked. With Bertie at the helm, what the hell else is going to happen?

I don't think imperialism has been defeated. I can only wish it was, I think over the coming years we will see an upsurgence in that, if anything.

That's my cynical twenty five euro, at least.
