For me it's Dvorak.

Of the contemporaries it's John Cage, Philip Glass and John Adams.

Mozart. It depends on what you define strictly as Classical Music or not as I have noticed that people have varying ideas about what is and what isn't.

I also like Vivaldi, Puccini and Verdi as well as Chopin- I am not so keen on the grand symphonic music so much and not the biggest fan of Beethoven.

I vote for Prokofiev, btw

but when it comes to classical music, I am very much a n00b... I have been listening to a lot more classical radio to relax me in the final days of this (rather challenging) semester at university.

Sorry, there are 15 options at this point. You couldn't possibly expect me to include everyone... it is a limited poll.

Yes, there are just too many actual choices to include, all of them extraordinarily good.

I abstain from voting in the poll because each choice you offer is better or as good as the other in some respect. Alas!

If I have to "go Russian", Mussorgsky is definitely my favorite of them all:

And again as conceived by Emerson, Lake & Palmer:

I don't listen to much classical music but my fiance says I would probably really like Tchaikovsky.

I voted for Beethoven:

Verdi, however, is very good too:

(The best bit starts about 3 and a half minutes in).

Beethoven...amazing, intelligent, eccentric
Also, he's part of the romantic era, my favorite.:tt1:

This is wow ^^^

A complete opposite composer of the 20th century era is Bela Bartok, my hero! Absolutely weird, and crazy, original compositions.

1. This should be multiple choice poll.

2. I voted for Mozart because this masterpiece:

3. I would be a lying dog if I didn't say I thought Beethoven, Chopin, Vivaldi were equally good.
