Ken Loach put this together really well; one of his best works in my opinion. It does a good job of showing how men and women's consciousness can be transformed through real life struggle, and it doesn't portray the striking miners and their wives as simple victims but as working-class fighters.

When it was on More4's strike night it was really good, as following it was "the Battle of Orgreave" - not the documentary of the same name, but a recreation of the event itself with many of the striking veterans taking part. The situation was still very emotional and heated despite it being a reinaction.

My favourite of Loach's is Land and Freedom, for my money the best film about the Spanish Civil War.

Absolute legendary film. Wish they'd bring it out on DVD.
