So far council communism is closest to my views, but one thing that seems to have most people doubting that council communism would work is the lack of a party. Then i thought maybe the use of a shell party would be more effective. When i say shell party i am talking about taking away all the politics around a party taking away any real power of the party, mainly just leaving it as a name that can be used by the workers to help bring unity and solidarity. Sticking to the main ideas of council communism with keeping the power in the worker councils and not in a central point of power, but just help promote the workers as a whole, instead of looking at them as loads of councils. The main reasons i still want a party but without any power is if you look at what happened to the German council communists KAPD, once they decided not to have a party and it was going against what they were saying, the movement lost a lot of support. But with a shell party it holds all the principals yet provides a gathering point for workers. Would this idea work in practice and are there any people that have described something like this? I would very much like to read up more =]
