I hope this is the right category to post this.
Well, the current government came to power when the local Democrats allied with the Liberals to topple the former Social-Democrats who ruled almost constantly since the 90's.
This alliance won the elections 4 years ago with current president Basescu(http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basescu) as candidate.
This has been the worst administration I've ever seen due to the high political instability, infighting and the worst economic management ever. Basically, this coalition went down the drain, the liberals were replaced by the social-democrats, the economic crisis came, we ended up with a huge loan from the IMF...
This is the background in short. Basescu actually calls all the shots as its party is nothing more than a bunch of brainless slaves serving him. He also wants to reduce the number of members in the Parliament and the number of Chambers to one (banana republic anyone ?) and obviously, the working class, although relatively complacent and not too interested in how the state sh*ts on us, has started to grow angry.
There are a lot of signs that this year's elections will be very tensioned.
What I'm really surprised (this being the main reason for posting this) is the general mobilization of the bourgeois, which seems to be in a all-out-war against Basescu and its regime.
I'm certain there are certain interests which run against the current leadership, but such a mobilization surprises me. Even the media went further than normal with its propaganda, shouting against the current leadership.
The country's split between Basescu's Democrats on one side and the Social-Democrats and Liberals on the other.
I'm wondering what's the reason behind the cappies for such a aggresive reaction ? I mean they're always on the winning side, regardless of election results, why would it matter so much now ?
