girl talk made it big with nightripper in 2006, which in internet time is eons ago

as for my opinion on them, night ripper was fun to listen to at parties and such, but mash-ups of pop and indie rock songs got old pretty fast

Ahh, I see, but I live in Europe, wich, as we all know, is the third world as far as internet goes.
I got to know him the oldskool way, by listening to copied cd's ;)
