I'm from Ireland but nationalism is a waste of time. There's quite a big Irish Anarchist base.

Anarchist Federation Ireland (http://www.afireland.cjb.net)

I'm Irish American, but quite distanced from Ireland. My family moved from Ireland to Scotland and than New York. Most of my family live in Scotland.

But there are so many people of Irish decent here in New York, more than the most populated cities in Ireland. And we have a disinct culture different than Italian Americans, Polish Americans, African Americans, etc...

However it's probobly very different than that of Ireland, or Irish Canadians, Irish Australians, etc..

That's something about our race... we've spread to the ends of the earth, probobly more so than any other ethnic group.

My friends say that I must have been Irish in a former life... well, I love Ireland, I drink a lot of Guinness, I admire James Connolly, and my mail address ends in .ie ... does this count as well...?

There are 40 million people of Irish decent in the US. It's too many. Come home, come home. Nah, you're not wanted.

I'm third generation irish in the u.s. My mother's maiden name was O'Keefe; her grandfather from County Cork. Although, when my grandfather went back a couple of years ago to try and find some long lost relatives, he couldn't. Apparently, all of my family got run out 75-80 years ago by the English, probably due to their involvement with the I.R.B. and/or the Knights of Feina. By the way, know where I can learn Gaelic KIKI

You can learn Irish in most Irish schools. I bet that is extremely helpful.

I'd imagine there is a lot of places out there in cyber space where you can try and learn Irish. I think there are quite a few organisations over there in the US also.

Thanks to the power of google (which you've probably heard of), I came across these sites:

http://www.maths.tcd.ie/gaeilge/gaelic.html

That's from Trinity College where some of those great guys like Wolfe Tone went.

I don't know what you are talking about. Manx what? Manx cats have no tails, Irish has many tales....

How is Trinity for law?

Unruly. Very unruly.

No, I don't have a clue, it would be a good coolege to go to because it'sright in the city centre, that's all I know.

Graduates from Trinity also have the right to kill catholics, which can come in handy on a saturday night. Well, so I've heard, as I'm sure you are aware it was a exclusively protestant school before, and seemingly that rule was never taken out.

I think I have heard something...Manx is the language of the Isle of Man?

It's funny, I don't really know anything about the Isle of Man. I had pretty much forgotten it existed until the arrival of the member, hegmonicretribution. It's not as if I would have dismissed its existence, I guess I just have not thought about it until recently.

Anyway, meaningless garbage aside, I would imagine that the differences are sleight, but noticeable.

There is quite a big difference between Scottish and Irish.

I probably don't know what I'm talking about.

Manx are the Celtic peoples from the Isle of Man.Located in the Irish Sea. It's a small nation technically. It is owned and controlled by England (my second favorite imperialist nation).I believe that it was purchased(that's right. A nation was bought) for 70,000 pounds in the late 1700's. Very nice place to visit.

I have relatives in Feakle, although I'm sure they are not anarchists! With a town name like feakle, I'm sure they don't do a lot of speaking up either!
