I was wondering if there have been any Movies based on Che. Not any documentries or anything like that, I mean a movie where someone actually plays Che(which I think would be great honor). If anybody has any info please post!

I know Benicio del Toro has been preparing one. I don't know when it will come out.
Gael García has played Ché 2 times. On Fidel, where I think his performance was great, and on Diarios de motocicleta which comes out on December. Check this post:

Andy Garcia is a gusano, a worm a traitor, he and other celebrities like Glora Estefan (Whose father was part of the Bay of pigs invasion) are funding the Miami mafia and their foul community of whores. Boycott any film he appears in like that rancid anti-Castro shit about Arturo Sandoval. Also burn any Gloria Estefan records you might possess.
Thanx...

Benicio del Toro's movie is based on Anderson's book. Thus, I believe it will be definitely the most accurate movie on Che.

It's gonna be hard for me to take the movie seriously, every time I see Benicio make a serious face, it reminds me of Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, and I start laughing.

I'm gonna spend the night outside the theatre the week or so before it comes out.

It was scheduled to come out this year in accordance with Che's 75th birthday, but somehow they couldn't make it so they scheduled it for 2004.... So no Che movie with good-looking Benicio del Toro in it until next year guys ;)

To the guy who said the thing about Che Shirts selling like crazy with punk rockers, That is the fucking bullshit that pisses me off! Che is no pop icon Fucking White kids and Hip hop people who like Jay Z start wearing that shit only cause its cool they do not know the meaning behind it! I was raised wearing lots of Che Shirts, not cuz they were popular but because my Non-Communist parents believed he was a great a man and a revolutionary! Punch whoever you see wearing a Che shirt and have no business wearing it In the FUCKING FACE for me! Thank you!

Deja vu.
Che's image is so ubiquitous it is impossible to copyright paticularly the Korda photo. Whether you or I like it or not Che is a pop icon and one hopes that if even a fraction of those who are exposed to his image (be it through a band or some punk wearing a t-shirt) decide to scratch beneath the surface and research his ideas then no harm no foul.

Well, if Benicio del Toro is in it, it will be fab!!
He did a solid job in Traffic and in The way of the Gun.. He's really cool..
