I am left oriented because i am sickened by the sufferings in South America and Africa. All this while most americans live happy greedy lives. All the wealth is still in the hands of the few, while the masses struggle to survive.

I also am attrracted to Marx's distaste for religion. This was what first made me study it more.

I also have seen how the US propoganda machine has been at work demonizing Stalin and Lenin and anything communist as evil. Most ignorant people here actaully think Hitler is communist.
The idea of free education... 100% literacy rate(eventually) too was good.
I also like collectivization and how Stalin changed the USSR intoa backwards feudal emprie into a world superpower in less than a quarter of a century.

PS- you should join us stalinists, the other leftists seem to be way too intolerant of authoritarianism here comrade :).

the concerns of an AIDS stricken child in africa, or a peasant living in a macquiladora in northen mexico, working for U$ 52 cents an hour, while the fat cats earn millions.
