Finding that you'd either have to be in a desperate situation or completely out of your mind to die for Imperialism, U.S officials have turned to army prisons to supply the upcoming troop surge. Among these soldiers are people who went AWOL due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as well as other emotional issues.

As an article I posted earlier last week shows, U.S. Military suicides are on the rise as well:

Given that revolutions are strengthened by a mutinous army, one which has lost all loyalty to the old order, do you think this is a "good" thing?

Any projections about where this could go in say the next five to ten years?

I'd like to see democratic rights for soldiers, including the right to elect and recall their commanders, form unions, and strike.

And I'd like to see all american and british soldiers dead. It is what imperialists deserve.

Given the choice, I have to say I'd much rather see the American bourgeoisie dead, considering that they, and not the soldiers, are the actual imperialists...

Fine, agents of imperialism. Same punishment.:reda:

Why punish someone for something over which they have no control? I'd certainly never condemn someone for killing an American soldier in defense of their homeland, but I'd also never call for the senseless slaughter of tens of thousands of economic conscripts, either.

They knew what America was like before they signed up. They knew the history of the American army. They could have refused to go to Iraq, or Afghanistan.

You may say they are just working class people, trying to earn a living...but so are strike breakers and I wouldn't have much sympathy for them.

And yet we don't have to wish them all dead. They're not on the right side but they're still human beings, many of them doing what they feel like they have to to earn a living and get into college. We shouldn't wish death on them any more than we should wish death on a man who steals a car to feed his family.

What a load of horse shit.

There is a huge difference between living in destitution and robbing something to feed your starving family...and going on an imperialist adventure which includes slaughtering innocent people.
