^To everyone here, the group is apparently not a joke.............
I've noticed that group before without thinking twice about it, but I dug it up upon reading this thread, and the group's creator says this:

Anything that the subconscience urges us to do, usually the irrational nonsensical things that have horrible consiquences afterwards, are evil in my eyes and need to be removed from the human thought process. Our instinct, our natural human though process, is outdated for our advancing inteligent society. If we are to progress any further towards communism (or anything of the like) then we must overcome intinctual urges such as greed and selfishness.

It is not that greed is actually a part of our instinct, but it is that items we want to have become intinctual needs over time as we come to enjoy them, and our instincts tell us that we must aquire all of our "needs" to survive.

The best way to overcome these instinctual forces is to find the most powerful 'need' and batter it down first, and that is the urge to have sexual pleasure. Once that 'need' is defeated it is easier to take down the others.

I am not against actually having sex, or even enjoying it for that matter. But it must be you, and not any animalistic instinct, that says when to do such things. If you can master complete control over what drives you to do things in life then sacrifices can more easily be made, and progress towards a better world will be faster and easier for those whom it directly effects.

Here is an example of where my line of thinking goes: a fellow student of mine who likes video games knows that with communism and the equal division of wealth worldwide it would be much harder for him to aquire all the newest video games that he wants. Now, assuming that in a communistic world it would be harder for him to aquire these games, wouldnt it be easier for him to transfer to such a communist society if he was able to differentiate between his actual wants and needs? If we were able to make the difference between our wants and our needs more aparent to ourselves then we would be able to give up some things for the good of all without any reluctance.

Please feel free to ask any questions if you are still even the slightest bit confused about where I am going with this.http://www.revleft.com/vb/group.php?groupid=129 (<scroll down to the bottom to read the "group discussion")

I think that, much like the anti-drugs (http://www.revleft.com/vb/group.php?groupid=238) group/lollercoaster, the founder may have been completely serious but the majority of members probably joined as a joke.

^Yeah, that's obvious. Especially Jimmyjazz requesting that it be made a tendency so he could set it as his 'official' tendency.
But that doesn't reduce the eeriness generated by the fact that the person who made the group did not make it as a joke...

At the beginning I thought the anti-sex league's description was a copy-paste of the Breen monologue at Half-Life 2 about instinct and reason (the monologue he employs about the question related to the fact that for some reason no one in Half-Life 2 had any sex).

I was going to bring that up earlier...that some groups are started with serious intent but are then "hijacked."

1984?

Well, even if you are reading, that is a surprise for me, always thought Stalinites preferred just listening to people shout shit.
