''Fuck off, black bastards! We don't have enough food for ourselves!''

I think those two pictures juxtaposed actually sum up a lot of what is wrong with the world. It just fills me with utter despair.

Really?
I feel a very deep compassion towards them, but I also feel anger, not despair.

Yeah, this is the proper attitude. This is just another example of why we need to slay this dragon called "capitalism."

And we shall send our mighty horses and elves: Aragon, Alfraedo, Tirrago, and Phillip.
They will rise from the depths of the world to slay this mighty, mighty dragon. Then there will be celebrations involving a variety of pastries, savoury biscuits and fruit juice.

Childhood obesity as prevalent a problem as starvation, both thanks to capitalism.

as prevalent?
can you support that with evidence, please?

at any rate, starvation is far more fatal than obesity

yes, a huge percentage of children in the West are obese
it's not nearly as big a deal as starvation

my sister is overweight
her parents hardly give a shit
I doubt their posture would be the same if the problem was instead a total lack of food and she was starving

Agreed.

It is easier to stop eating a lot if there is a lot of food around, than start eating more when there's no food.

I love the old 19th/early 20th century stuff where people could actually get away with ridiculously over-the-top rhetoric. I remember Emma Goldman having some stuff that read a lot like that.
