Or do the Republicans and Democrats seem like the Cripps and the Bloods now? I mean all they do now is slander one another when there is a chance.

People need to wake up, open there eyes and look at what these two parties are doing... and vote for other parties.

Does anyone else notice this?

They've always sucked.

They should be banned, so we can restore democracy.

How can one get anything done if all that happens is arguments back and forth..? Most of the time these politicians are arguing against each other just to argue, not having a full grasp on the situation or rarely thinking logically. It's a sad thing, really.

They argue over meaningless issues. They are in full agreement on all the important issues, namely fucking the lot of us.

Its nothing new for them to slander each other...but they are becoming more brazen and out in the open with it. They're just beginning to drop all pretenses that they're "for the people" in any meaningful way, really.

As leftists, we should be thankful for this. It makes our job that much easier.

These days political parties just argue for the sake of arguing and nothing serious gets done.

yeah, these political parties are just one big bourgeois trick to make us think we're voting for something really meaningful. When, really, our vote doesn't matter at all (the ones who count our votes are the ones actually deciding everything) and if our vote really did matter, party members stab everyone in the back, and eventually make policies in favor of the ruling class. Lose-lose situation.

btw...I laugh all the time when conservatives claim they're "for the little guys"

Dems and republicans are both a bunch of conservative wankers.

Support has always shifted between the two parties. Some people believe the Republican Party is dying but that's naive.

Although some socialist groups will engage in stupid tactics like supporting Greens or Nader even while there are socialist campaigns, on the logic that those are the largest left-ish alternatives to the Democratic Party.

I do feel that a larger party would be best. If the SPUSA and ISO could somehow unite, along with other smaller groups around a revolutionary platform. That's my dream.

Basically it's boiled down to a "good cop/bad cop" routine. Democrat gets into power on big promises, usually after a real dick of a republican, and then proceeds to talk about bipartisanship and how he is struggling but can't win out against republican opposition(even in the situation they have today in congress). His base gets pissed off; meanwhile the republican noise machine agitates its base, fringe radicals and mainstream conservatives unite, and they proceed to act as though the president has just outlawed Christianity and nationalized the country's industry. As a result, next election they are mobilized while those who fell for the democrat are pissed off. Then another republican gets in who's worse than the last one.

If they start doing drivebys on each other, I wouldn't complain.

It'd make CSPAN more interesting, at least.

No, the bloods and crips actually get things done.

Besides, it's all one party serving ruling class interest.

This is a good observation I think of the way things are. The Democrats and Republicans are for all intents and purposes simply two wings of one party. As such all "fights" between them merely serve to pull attention away from real issues and maintain the status quo.

The Democrats might be the opposite of Republicans on how they operate in most things, but what they boil down to is two groups of people devoted to the at-all-costs preservation of Capitalism, and have become a joke in the process of real democracy.
