Hey comrades I'm new here. I just thought that maybe some of you could share your thoughts about the United Fruit Company and its path of devastation across central America and Europe, and the hypocrasy that America showed by backing the UFC and supporting McCarthyism and imperialism while under the guise of progressivism. Any thoughts? Also, Jacobo Arbenz is one cool guy that was a lot like Che and fought for Guatemalan rights. Do some research on him and you'll see that America used General Castillo to brand him as a communist. He went into exile for the rest of his life... another fantastic communist leader lost to the imperialist machine. Anyone want to respond?

United Fruit had big extensions of lands acroos Guatemala, and Jacobo Arbenz gave them to the people, he was a great socialist but he had also a very close mind, when the CIA planned the invasion of what they called "The Marxist Threat is right nest-door" he didnt pay attention to the people and tried to defend the country with only his man, refusing to hand out guns to the civilians.

Here is where Che gets involved in a revolution, before that he was not very interest in politics and often didnt take part on the discussions on the Guevara's house, but he always saw poverty and loved South America as a whole, and not as a bunch of countries.
Guevara had a great plan to defend guatemala but Arbenz didnt pay attention and Che had to be rescued by a fellow Argentinean because the CIA was awer of the Che's plans.

You really know your UFC! Zemmuray was a Russian immigrant that made the mistake of merging with the UFC and unfortunately rose to power after the UFC bought out virtually every plantation in this hemisphere... and more. The Dulles guys were not what I would consider the coolest guys either. You did a great job of explaining the key roles. Also, attention all who read this: the UFC is still alive under the name Chiquita, and still has ties in our government. In 1994, they provided Bob Dole's campaign with $115,000 to decry the agricultural polices of several European nations. Who knows how far they go. You never hear of them because too many people are in their pocket. If you have more info on the UFC/Chiquita Co., please let me know. Thanks!
