hello, i am "guest 12.88...." from the socialist-capitalism forum", i finally registered. It is good to see that there are still people who dont blindly wave the US flag and people who know that Hitler was not a communist.

Welcome Mazdak!

One tip though, your quote by Marx is not literally correct, sorry to nitpick ;)

huh? oh yes i know, but it is probably one of the most widely used statements(anti religious anyhow) and i didnt feel like making a big signature either.

I see you have the entire quote. Nothing i hope anyone will crucify me for!!

LOL, no problem dude, not everyone is as anal as me and I'm generally very tolerant ;)

It's just that made up quotes in the public domain often end up taking center stage in popular debates. I disagree with those that find the statement in my signature to be 100% anti-religious.

In a heartless world, is it not comforting to find a heart, or to find a soul in a soulless existance? Even opium provides temporary comfort, but is ultimately destructive.

The analogy between religion and opium is in that sense a completely brilliant one in my oppinion, and shows that Marx had a very profound and pluralistic view of the world. I for one used to love opium ;)

authoritarian communism seems very appealing

Ehm, how so? Do you mean like Stalinism, or like modern day Cuba?

Cuba is weakening, castro is showing signs of loopsening his hold. What a shame

Stalinism is mor reactionary, and i believe stalin wasnt evil. But the more ihere how evil he is, the more stalinist i become
