What have been the effects of Operation Cast Lead?

I am interested in knowing about how the Palestinian people have been affected by Israel's Operation Cast Lead, in late 2008 and January of 2009. Would anybody have any sources on international criticism, the role of the US in the attacks, and life for occupied Palestinians as of now?
