There's a great compliation of Mulatu Astatke's work from 1965-75, New York-Addis-London which I can't stop playing right now. Its definitely something for everyone to check out and not just jazz fans, for the sheer technicality of the playing if nothing else. Mulatu Astatke is one of the founding fathers of jazz in Ethiopia, specialising in the vibraphone as well as arrangement, and his music is a complete joy.

There's not many decent bits and pieces of his on the ol' Youtube, but anyone with Spotify can access a wide range of his back catalogue on there.
