Alright, lets start from the top.
Few weeks back I was surfing the internet and previously before that I had always been blaming the commies for everything, (in a jokey way). But I really thought about it and knew that instead of slagging off the left-wing I should go and find out things about it and what it's really like. So I did just that and I searched for hours and realised I mostly agreed with what you/they are trying to do. That was a few weeks back and I decided to join this site to maybe find more information, but since then I've been checking everyday and with each passing day I feel more and more enthusiastic and I really want to be involved with it.

However, I'm 17 and I don't know how my parents would feel if they found out or I told them. I'm also standing for school council and I've made a manifesto and posters and the election will be soon so I don't know yet if I will be in the school council. I also tried talking to some of my friends in school but they always slag off left-wing just as I did and I started arguing with my friend about which is better, she stood for capitalism and I stood for communism and to be honest I didn't do a very good job.
:( There is one or two blokes which do agree with communism and we do talk about it sometimes which made me feel that there is hope in my town.

I also want some books to read and get some information but my parents might think I'm a bit dodgy or something. I've become so passionate about this and when I think of or see the problems around me which is caused by the capitalist system, it gets me even more fired up to do something about it. I really want to start a club or group in my town but I'm worried that, A. There isn't enough people in my town (actually it's a mini city) who are left-wing, and B. If there was a club we'd all get thrown out if the person who owned the place found out what we were doing (My town doesn't have a left-wing party). I'm in Northern Ireland so it's black and white still and if you aren't supporting a highly protestant party you are still automatically looked down on like rubbish. It actually upsets me that people still think like that.

So yea, I just had to get that off my chest and I'd be so happy if you guys can give me any help on what I can do to get me started.

Many Thanks! :)

Read, everything theory, history, newspapers, comic books, fiction, magazines, etc. etc. Look what others have done/are doing, evaluate/analyze their actions and model your own accordingly.

Well , for the books , try Capital and Manifesto for the basics , maybe also State and Revolution by Lenin , join an organisation (is the Conolly Youth active in the North too ?) and start the stickers and leaflets campaign (i got much the same problems like you , except that my city , though being one of the biggest in country is quite nationalist and right-winged)

I suggest you read Ernest Mandel, his writings on economics are really clear and accessable.
