But this thread title gave me an idea. Why not really choose the most violent footballer ever?
I'd go with Fernando Couto, but Roy Keene is very close. Mihajlovic was a true bastard on the field as well.

Are there any stats for these players regarding the amount of cards they received? Raymond Atteveld was a motherfucker. Everton, West Ham or Bristol City fans might remember him (then again, maybe not ). He racked up a total of 11 red cards and 63 yellow cards during his career.
Like Roy Keane, he continued his reputation when he started as a manager. At Roda JC, he was already known for getting "touchy" with his players, and this was considered the reason that some of their better players left for other clubs. Now, at ADO, he has been criticised again for his machismo, his verbal abuse of players, and his "playful" way of slapping them in the face, hitting them and pulling their ears.
Rachid Bouaouzan (contracted to Wigan, but loaned out to NEC in Holland, where he has been repeatedly banished to the second squad for being overweight, unmotivated, unprofessional, etc.) is a hated figure on the pitch as well, for a tackle that broke his opponent's leg and forced him to retire from football in 2004.
Neither of these guys will be the most violent ever, but they definitely made an effort at being considered the greatest SOBs.

Why soo violent....Part of why I dislike watching some games is the petty bullshit between players. It's really annoying after a while. Just play the fucking game.

There is a story circling around about the origin of Roberto Mancini's and Sinisa Mihajlovic's great relationship.
When Mihajlovic arrived in Sampdoria, Mancini was the team's captain and a real "duce" on the field. He used to slap his fellow team mates when they did something wrong in training. Even the coach couldn't do anything about his behaviour, because he was also scared of Roberto and his critique.
Anyway, Mihajlovic arrived as a shy Yugoslavian with funny hair that couldn't speak a word of italian. Mihajlovic fucked something up in training session and Mancini came and gave him a realy powerful slap on the cheek. Mihajlovic instantly turned red, and beat the living crap out of his violent captain.
They are best friends ever since.

I know this, but I certainly don't agree with people getting so violent that it detracts from the game itself. I'm not talking about slide tackles and legitimate violence () but the kind of stuff that woman was doing, particularly pulling the other player down by her hair. That's fucked up.

I got a bit ooohhhhh too when i saw the particular one, but then i dont know what could happen.People dont hit each other for nothing.I know if she would do this against our rival team, she would get to the heart of each and every fan:D It depends on the occasion if it is fucked up really. There are people deserve it.

Look at Gary Neville just starting on Thierry for no reason. Dennis so cool and calm when he talks to Paddy, he aint called the iceman for no reason. But honestly Paddy was a legend and a true great for our club, a best of compilation for Roy Keane would be all his horrific tackles over the years.

Keane is eternally overrated. I can see how you can make a case that Keane was a better leader, though I don't really agree. I cannot see anyway you can make a case that Keane was a better player in footballing terms.

With the combination of his play and leadership qualities time and time again I would choose him over Viera.

Keane is just a mad bastard, fuckin pyscho. What your man would have done other than becoming a football makes me wonder? Could of had a fine career as a gangland enforcer. Suprised Vinnie Jones hasn't been mentioned. Or Kenny Miller or any of the other 'gers squad, they seem to have the dirty tackle down to an art. Do they have special training sessions to perfect their slide tackles or something?
Chairman Wow

Ben Thatcher caused an opposition player to have a seizure once... and Roy Keane ended Alf inge Haaland's career. So I guess those two would have to be up there
