Wanted Man

There doesn't seem to be an English source, but here is a Spanish (http://www.que.es/ultimas-noticias/espana/200911112058-vicecanciller-nicaragua-acusa-intervencionismo-dos.html) and Dutch (http://www.telegraaf.nl/binnenland/5303167/__Van_Baalen_Nicaragua_uitgezet__.html) one.
Basically, the Ortega government booted him out of the country after his consultations with liberal oppositionists. Good old-fashioned imperialist intervention in countries that aren't exactly dying for it. As the Nicaraguan vice-foreign minister put it: "These people are European interventionists who come to boast in poor countries, to show their pride and supremacy."
He also made a hilarious statement that will surely piss off nationalists: "Van Baalen did not come here to lecture Nicaragua, because the Netherlands are a small, insignificant country, unlike a European heavyweight such as Germany". He later apologised for this remark, but I thought it was funny.
Who is Van Baalen, the MEP? He is on the right-conservative wing of the neo-liberal VVD party. He has said that he would like to reintroduce a military draft and he supports using "physical pressure" against terror suspects. Unlike the official line of both past and current governments, he is open about the fact that the war in Afghanistan has nothing to do with "rebuilding", but all with "fighting terrorism". He is also a big fan of Israel.
