hello I am Lardlad95, Aaron Rodriguez, I have recntly adopted democratic socialism as my political stance. I know alot of people hate the US my current residence and that is why I want to bring about change through democratic means. Though in the spirit of revolution I feel that should things get to bad to talk out revolution is the only way.

Though I'm not officialy a member of a political party (I hope to join the US Socialist party soon) I still consider my self a socialist. I am glad I finally found a socialist/communist message board, I have been searching everywhere

Hello, hello, hello.

In case you haven't noticed, there are some people on this board who won't agree 100% with what you just said, but I really think you and I will have a lot in common. I'm glad you're here, and I hope we'll be talking soon.

I like debating especially with people who have more experience on the subject...it forces me to try harder so if people disagree with me it wont be to bad. At least now I have a haven away from my school where I can actually talk about my interest

curious what wouldn't they agree on?

I think she may mean that since you say you want to bring about revolution in a democratic manner and by talking it out, certain people here may not agree with you on that idea. Some people on here advocate violent revolution. You can ask her to be sure though. I'm not quite positive if that is what she means.

Yes I think that it should be brought about in a democratic fashion at first, however should the governments a. ignore the majorities vote or b. should poverty, recession, and injustice get out of hand then I will pick up a gun along side the others. However I believe that every step must be taken to try to accomplish your goal with out losing the lives of our comrads.

thanx all, i do hope to learn here. i hope to come to more understanding of my beliefs and those of others. i especially want to learn more about Che, engels, marx, and Lennin (though i have the jon Lee anderson biography of che and a biography of Lennin) especially since my school wont teach about them, or any type of militancy (our encyclopedias say nothing about Huey Newton) or leftist beliefs.

and to supermodel unfortunatley i don't speak spanish, though i have to learn before i visit my dad's family in puerto rico this summer

Looks like you have a great mission Lardlad95.. It's good to want to learn more about others and yourself simultaneously. Hey, if you haven't, could you please fill out the survey in the thread "Getting to know you all.."? It's here in the Lounge. We'd all like to know some more about you! :)

And, if you ever need it, I could help you with Spanish and I'm sure Supermodel would be willing as well.

Welcome!

Glad you are a democrat in an advanced bourgeois country, rather than having to fight against a tyrant in a revolution. Horses for courses! I am in the same boat as you!

Don't know much about the US Socialist Party, but interested in why you think they are a good bunch of apples to join. Maybe, they are. Please enlighten me!

Can't join, am Scottish resident in Scotland, and the Scottish Socialist Party is the only party I would join. Thinking about it, but I do not really like the way they organise themselves, so being a member of an ineffective organisation is a big turn-off. Still, you can always argue the case from within, so I will probably join.

Be prepared to be derminated!

Resistance is Futile!

Be afraid, be very afraid...

May the Force be with U!
