So anyway I Went on a date with a girl just a few hours ago. We decided to go to the cinema and she wanted to go see "this is it" which is a movie about Michael Jackson. Now, I like some of the mans music and I'll watch just about anything there is.

HOWEVER! Had I realized what an absolutely disastrous, boring, boring, boring piece of recycled feces this movie was I would definitely not have went!

To put things in a nutshell, its about two hours of MJ getting ready for a concert - that never happens. Lots of bollox about choreography, dancing and the fact that MJ was far from an easy man to please when any noise was made. No plot, No Interviews, No real Documentations - Seriously if you paid me fifty bucks I wouldnt sit through this "movie" again.

So, Yeah, Go see this movie at the risk of your own mental health. You'll spend two misreble hours in a chair saying "why the fuck is this here on front of me".

I'm not at all surprised. The only reason for that movie's existence is to cash in on the man's death.

I'm going to move this to chit chat. The "film" is not political or of any interest to leftists, and the topic is more suited to chit chat.

wtf!?

Its about him going to see a film, so I don't think this is any more serious than a chit chat thread.

Yeah it is simply a move to make more money out of the man. Just as the new single and album is.

Have to disagree with just about everything in this thread. This is a movie about a major popular artist preparing for a series concerts that, sadly, he didn't live to perform. If you don't like Michael jackson's art, then you probably won't like it. If you enjoy the art of the writer of "We Are the World," you'll enjoy it.

I have been dealing with his god damn soundtrack since this god damn film was released, and god damn I'm sick of it. "This is it" is an average song (at best), "Jam" is horrendous, "Billie Jean" gets more intolerable by the minute, and a whole host of his other songs make me want to bring him back from the dead just so I can strangle him.
MJ was extremely talented, but jesus I've had enough of the hype.
The movie looks average, too. As "Red Dave" noted, this is a film for fans of Michael Jackson. They're the only people who will actually enjoy it. But it's most certainly a means toward cashing in on his death.

Knew it would suck since they had it only in theaters for a few weeks they just wanted to create a lot of hype to cash in for a terrible movie and the reviewers probably got paid off:

IMDB 7.5
Rottentomatoes 80%
Yahoo B+
