Here's a list of their reviews. Only some of them work though. (http://www.prisoncensorship.info/archive/etext/movies/index.html)

Yeah I know who they are, hence my amazement they're actually on a serious commercial DVD.

Maybe an MIM member had something to do with the packaging.

I think they should turn up on more DVD covers and film adverts. It would at least be funnier than the usual set up that looks something like this:
"ADJECTIVE!" - Some tabloid.
"EVEN MORE HYPERBOLIC ADJECTIVE!" - A cheaper tabloid.
"You will shit yourself with pleasure" - An industry magazine sponsored by the film company in question
"This film is not in the least bit enjoyable; an unwatchable trainwreck" edited into "This film is not in the least bit...an unwatchable trainwreck" -Some overpayed douchebag whos "job" is looking at films and writing about 100 words of wank about it before passing out drunk on a bed made of money and cocaine.

In fact I think all the most hilarious fringe groups should have their reviews on the boxes. Just imagine the next blockbuster with the following on the adverts:

"Bourgeois art in decay!" - Crimethinc.
"An enjoyable rom-com that illustrates why we need to beat leninists in the street" - RAAN
"A garunteed kkkla$$ic" - MIM
"JEWS!" - The KKK

I'm guessing that they googled for a Maoist review of the film and first thing that came up was that.

by the way, isn't la chinoise supposed to be a satire of delusional, first-world maoists?

Are you sure it wasn't a fake? In Hong Kong when you buy DVDs from street vendors they sometimes have random reviews on the back.

The review blurb also makes no sense at all.

No this is the official region 4 release by Madman Entertainment, a well-known DVD distribution company that caters to all the anime fans and arthouse cinema geeks in the Australasian region. See here's the official page for the DVD, with the MIM quotation at the bottom:

And on top of that I brought it from JB Hi-Fi, one of the most well-known DVD stores in NZ.

On the ultra-left theory fixated ones yes

The deluded ones.

It was so lol especially the scene when one of them couldn't argue back at her lecturer telling her individual acts of terrorism are completely useless since she doesn't have a mass base behind them so she's just going to go to jail making all the commies look insane. She just kept spouting a bunch of shit about China and the Russian nihilists.

I watched La Chinoise a few days ago, and I can't imagine that MIM is too different from the people living in that apartment  By the way, that scene you're talking about was one of my favorites. Especially when she's asked what she plans to do after she closes the university, she says she has a plan, but she really has no clue.

It's kind of sad when the guy with the best politics of the whole group ends up embracing Khrushchev and moving to East Germany.

She just closes her mind off completely and tries to avoid talking about it
