Just after i got up this morning (about 4:50am for work) I went and got some serial to give me energy for the day. As I sat on the couch to watch some very early morning TV, I decided to see what skynews was going on about. Anyhow, the actual report was something about the awfull such as the reality of war in afganistan, but what struck me in my totally fatigued conciousness was what was going on in the yellow ticker at the bottom of the screen.

Basically, it said that North Koreas navy was exchanging fire with the the South Korean Navy.

In a rather shocked state, i decided to leave for work and forget about it till i finished. Then I expected to see how the world had gone to war or something when i got back.

Low and behold, nothing has happened. Absolutey no-one has mentioned this anywhere, something that would be headline, has just dissapeared as if it didnt happen. wierd.

Did anyone else hear this or is it just aload of corperate bollox? Heck, they could have said anything they wanted and no-one but me would have known.

North and South Korea exchanged fire but it were two isolated ships not acting on higherhand. Basicly nothing is happening, except for a whole lot of shouting over the border going "It's your fault, apologize!" "No, it's your fault, you apologize!", and that's all that's happening and also all that I think will happen.

A long fucking article (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/10/north-korea-and-south-kor_n_351741.html)

Must admit, I read about half of it.

Yeah I posted a thread about it yesterday. Didn't get much of a response. At first, I thought "OMG A WAR IS GONNA HAPPEN AAAAAAAH" but then I read the article and it totally downplayed the incident.

Scary thought really.

According to the article a DPRK officer was killed.

Technically, the koreas are already in a state of war. The korean war of the 50's never ended.
