Whats the best way to lose a few inches in the stomach region? I bought a lovely overcoat last year. I haven't wore it because after winter ended, I gained a few unwanted pounds and now it is only comfortable to wear open. (Which looks rather bad with most outfits) However, today, I putt it on and buttoned it up and it looked fantastic, I remembered why I bought it in the first place. Only problem is it's still a little too snug in the stomach area. So, how do I knock off a few inches quick so I can be sporting this beauty by December?

Maintain a calorie deficit. Eat healthy. Work out.
What did you think the answer would be?
I lift MWF and run TR. I also eat healthy and maintain a calorie deficit, as I am working on losing some bodyfat as well.
There is no magic to it.
No I mean specifically in that region. That is the only part where it is tight. My coat won't fit any better if I lose the weight somewhere else. What specific exercises will trim your waist line? (I am not really into exercise, so don't yell at me if the answer is obvious.)

Magic-Abs, or if you can't find that the Ab-Cruncher.
I've even seen machines that do the work for you.
Yeah, it resembles a giant belt-sander...I remember there was a lot of jiggling.
Really though, it's a tough spot to lose weight, I think you have to attack it with core exercises like pilates.

KC is entirely correct. Forget about 'targeting' the waist and just go for a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. Since you're looking to lose weight I'd recommend cardio exercises (running and cycling, already recommended, are good) rather than weights. The latter do burn calories but wouldn't be the best for fat loss

but unless you've never worked out your abs before you won't see much of a change.
I never worked out before period. (hence my utter naivete when it comes to fitness)
So ab exercises like crunches? Or are there other ones that you are talking about.
