Hello all. I am glad to have stumbled upon this site, it is not often that I have such luck. After a night of reading posts, I can readily say that I have found a place to discuss my views, and learn a great many things as well.

At 16 years old, I do not consider myself, in any case, an able and confident socialist. I have only just embarked on a life that I am sure will bring new meaning to the world I view today, and my role in it. I am determined to learn as much as I can and work as much as I can to fight for a justice that is so vital for so many in this world.

My father, who is of Nicaraguan descent, tells me of his days as a poor student. With the FSLN movement picking up momentum in Nicaragua, he gained interest, and joined. Though never involved in guerrilla combat, he can easily name several of his friends that joined the fight, and died for their cause. The FSLN brought great things to Nicaragua, including greatly improved health care and a staggering drop in the illiteracy rate.

Now, as a student, I work in conjunction with my father in various community service organizations in the United States, and hope to pursue studies in political science, economics, etc. My father has an extensive collection of Marxist works, which I have begun reading. Through knowledge, any foe can be toppled. Even though I strive for justice to be won peacibly, I am not afraid to leave my pen and take up the sword for that justice and peace to be achieved.

It seems I have gone off rattling again...heh. Well, once again, thank you for the wonderful site, I hope to learn many things.

FSLN!!!!!!!

I was saying that in school to see how quickly it takes for it to annoy people. It didn't work because no one knew who they are.

I'm trying to find out more about Nicaragua. Is it true that there were free elections under the Sadinistas? or did the Sadinistas rule by fear and deathsquads like i've heard some people say?
