Hi,

I'm currently doing some writing on theories of international relations, and a large part of what I'm looking at revolves around world-systems theory, which discusses the idea of there being 'core' and 'periphery' nation states etc. Now, I know that Lenin discussed the "financial strangulation of the overwhelming majority of the population of the world by a handful of 'advanced' nations" in Imperialism..., but I swear that I heard that Lenin had actually used the words core and periphery in his writing. Can ayone point me towards a quote or text where Lenin uses these phrases? Thanks in advance.

A quick google search of the Lenin Archive on MIA turns up nothing but discussions of party structure for "periphery". Similar with "core", I can't find anything relevant to your area

I think Wallerstein was the first to use the terms.
