I thought this speech from Paul Stott at this years London Anarchist Bookfair deserved to be posted and debated on here. He talks about what position we (and the fascists) are in at the moment, about whether the idea of 'No Platform' should be given up, and about what we need to do to stand any chance of defeating fascism. In my opinion he hits the nail on the head.

(For some reason it isn't working when I copy and paste the article to here? Anyway, here's the link - http://paulstott.typepad.com/i_intend_to_escape_and_co/2009/11/giving-up-no-platform.html )

Thats a sound position and echoes what comrades I've been around have been saying thats had an influence on me. No Platform, i.e. physical, violent confrontation is not enough on its own, its just a tactic we should be willing to use. What we really need is a movement which replaces them, as the article said, thats what anti-fascism is, i.e. genuine working class politics.

It's highly impressive to be fair.

I am just wondering what meeting/lecture it was from seeing as A) I was confused as to where everything was and B) I got there a bit late. :p
