Are you talking about deaths caused by capitalism in India? I've heard a lot of people mention that capitalism has caused numerous deaths in India, but haven't seen any sources for it.

How is that a new factor? It's not as if capitalism didn't exist in India before 1947.

I honestly don't know, that's why I'm asking. Maybe I phrased my question in a misleading manner.

Capitalism isn't a new factor, but it is a factor. The Gandhian revolution left capitalism intact, so those who died because of capitalism must be considered victims of the non-violent revolution.

I see that I left the number out of my post. The number I have seen banded by revolutionaries repeatedly is one hundred million people have starved to death or otherwise been killed by the conditions of capitalism in India since 1947.

Okay, this is exactly what I was wondering about.
